Enrichment Night

We had a totally fun Enrichment night at our ward last week. The Relief Society set up the night's theme as the mall. They had the cultural hall set up as a food court with a Teriyaki Stix, a Salad Place, Orange Julius, and Cinnabon. That was our fabulous dinner! We took time to get silly pictures taken in the food court.

Then we went shopping in the stores:

Things Remembered: we discussed keeping a record and legacy of our daily lives;

Famous Footwear: we discussed not judging others until we've "walked a mile in their shoes";

GNC: we discussed keeping our bodies fit and healthy, eating good food and exercising;

Dyan's Jewelry: we discussed recognizing and letting our talents sparkle like diamonds;

Journey's: we discussed how our lives don't always take the path we intend, but that we can make the most of our journey.

The night as a whole was so fun and each store gave us a sample to remember what we learned. So here is my record of the night, if I don't get it in my journal.

A Blonde Moment!

I have "blonde moments" a little too often. Here is one from two nights ago. Apparently I was in a hurry to get the kids ready for bed and be done for the night. I took Jo's clothes and diaper off and plunked her in the bath when her sister exclaims: "Josie still has her socks on!" Then everyone is called in to see Mom's smooth move. "Dad...BriAnna! Mom put Josie in the bath with her socks still on!" Josie starts realizing the humor of it and kicks her little feet and laughs (note all the ripples in the water). Everyone got a good laugh out of it. I don't know what I would use for an excuse if I wasn't a real blonde...thank heavens!

Blankets!

There is so much fun to be had on a Saturday morning! Cheap fun, too. All that is required is a few blankets! Bri and Lynds took turns sliding their sisters around on the kitchen floor. And of course, no blanket has lived a full life without being used for a tent house.

We Love Dr. Seuss!

So Dr. Seuss' birthday was a few days ago and it would be appropriate to honor such an awesome man. We love Dr. Seuss at our house! We read him daily. The big girls read to the little girls when mom and dad are busy. My favorite is the Cat in the Hat. ["You sank our toy ship, sank it deep in the cake. You shook up our house and you bent our new rake. You shouldn't be here when our mother is not. You get out of this house!" Said the fish in the pot.] It's just too funny!

Here is a pic of Lynds and Bri with the hats they made at school today!

I tag anyone who would like to play. Post on mine, so I can check it out.

The Tooth Book

This is a pic of Lyndsay after her bath the other night. She insisted that she wanted me to pull out both of her extra teeth. (Zoom in to see that she has double teeth, on the left and right of her front two. BriAnna had her convinced that if she lost two teeth in one day the Tooth Fairy left double...$2 per tooth instead of $1. So here it is nine o'clock and this kid won't go to bed because she insists on my pulling both of these stubborn teeth. Keep in mind that she hasn't let me touch these wiggly teeth for the past year. We let her permanent ones keep coming, thinking they would crowd out the roots of the baby teeth and they would fall out...No, they have not, and would not...Finally Lyndsay got sick of me yanking on her mouth and went to bed. Last night, at bedtime, it started again. Thankfully, I had loosened it the night before and Ryan suggested I use a piece of floss and POP...out it came. Then her mouth bled profusely for like 15 minutes. That little bugger tooth did not want to give up. But the dentist said we should get them out soon. One down, one to go. Lynds got her $1 last night, but no bonus for double. Sorry about that, kiddo. But not nearly as sorry as I am that we will have to invest in braces for both BriAnna and Lyndsay! Ugh! Hopefully the others won't need braces, expensive!

Oh yes, the reason I titled this post 'the Tooth Book' is because it is Josie's favorite book. We read it...every...single...day! Jo points to her teeth and says "tee." And of course, I packed that book to read to Josie when the girls all went to the dentist. Josie likes looking at everyone's teeth. The girls all smile and point to their teeth, so Josie will say "tee." Perhaps Jocelyn will grow up to be a dentist, like her Uncle Justin.

p.s. to Justin, we joked about you continuing school to be an orthodontist, now the joke is less funny and more practical ;)

Great Clip!

You gotta check out this funny little clip. This just cracks me up. It's great fun, but strangely, it reminds me of that annoying show "The Wiggles."

Can you imagine being an innocent bystander to witness this...Hilarious!?!
